Certificate in Financial Psychology & Behavioral Finance

These courses are offered using the 8-week online schedule at Creighton University Heider College of Business, and will be instructed by Brad Klontz, Psy.D, CFP® and Ted Klontz, Ph.D. All five courses in the program are offered each calendar year. Courses in the program DO NOT have to be taken consecutively.

  • Facilitate financial health in their clients, including developing a healthy relationship with money, helping clients overcome resistance to change and take positive actions, and helping clients decrease financial stress and increase their income and net worth.
  • Work with couples and families around financial matters;
  • Have met the educational requirements for the Certified Financial Behavior Specialist® (FBS®) professional designation.

  1. Introduction to Financial Psychology (August 19 - October 13, 2019)
  2. Applied Behavioral Finance (October 21 - December 14, 2019)
  3. Personal Financial Psychology (January 13 - March 8, 2020)
  4. The Psychology of Family Finances (March 16 - May 10, 2020)
  5. Financial Communication and Client Interviewing (June 15 - August 9, 2020)
